Matthew Rhyshas made history at the 78th Emmy Awards. The actor, who won only 1 Emmy previously for his work in the FX series The Americans as Philip Jennings, took home two different Lead Actor wins. One for his work in the Apple TV comedy series Widow’s Bay and another for his work in the Netflix limited series, The Beast in Me. The wins come out of Rhys’ total of 8 Emmy nominations for other shows as well like a guest role on Girls and a nomination for Perry Mason. The double win makes a first in Emmy’s history, putting him as the first actor to win two leading actor Emmys in one night.
