‘Lanterns’ Officially Sets Up a Major Part of Green Lantern’s Darkest Storyline

Editor’s note: The following article contains spoilers for Lanterns Episode 5.The latest episode of Lanterns, “Lights Out,” was a game-changer in many ways. It brought its 2016-set storyline to an end with the reveal that Zoe Macon (Poorna Jagannathan) is the Manhunter Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) were searching for—further complicating Hal and John’s relationship, since John had a torrid relationship with Zoe. Worse, Zoe sent Rushville’s residents after Hal, while the alien Antaan (Paul Ben-Victor) and his cell of insurgents descended on Rushville, intent on killing the Manhunter once and for all. John eventually kills Zoe himself, but he might have missed the real threat lurking in the shadows.
