The Best-Reviewed Action Movie of 2026 Officially Moves to a New Streaming Platform

One of the most acclaimed action movies of the year; in fact, one of the most acclaimed movies of the year, period, is about to get easier to access. Released theatrically in June, the martial arts extravaganza received near-unanimous praise from critics and audiences, and more than doubled its reported budget at the box office. It follows a man who goes on a quest to rescue his kidnapped daughter. Along the way, he is joined by an undercover operative. Together, they take down a trafficking ring in modern-day Bangkok. The movie itself hails from Hong Kong, was filmed in Bangkok, and was directed by Japanese filmmaker Kenji Tanigaki. It is headlined by Chinese actor Xie Miao and Indonesian martial arts stars Yayan Ruhian and Joe Taslim, who broke out with a role in The Raid. Taslim subsequently appeared in Fast & Furious 6, Mortal Kombat, and Star Trek Beyond.
