In the age of streaming, even successful shows can sometimes run far longer than their stories need. That’s why a genuinely great three-season show (even if it’s unceremoniously canceled) is something to appreciate. Three seasons is enough time to develop memorable characters and an ambitious story, but short enough that the show can avoid becoming a victim of its own success.
