Ridley Scott hasn’t exactly had a banner year so far, though there was plenty of anticipation surrounding his return to sci-fi with The Dog Stars. Scott enlisted a trio of massive stars in Josh Brolin, Jacob Elordi, and Margaret Qualleyfor his new sci-fi movie, but as it winds down its run at the box office, it’s set to finish as one of Scott’s lowest grossing movies ever. Scott clearly has bigger plans in the sci-fi genre, though — he announced just a few weeks ago that he’s developing a new Alien movie centered around Michael Fassbender’s character, David, from Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Scott may have taken a step back from directing as many movies in this advanced stage of his career, but he’s still heavily involved in many films as a producer through his Scott Free banner.
