Original ‘Inspector Lynley’ Star Officially Returns to British Crime TV in New Trailer

There’s no shortage of British detective drama these days, that’s for sure, so for one to distinguish itself from the pack during its first season? That takes a particular skill, and yet this one managed it. Based on the enormously successful novels by Belgian author Georges Simenon, MASTERPIECE PBS struck gold with their latest adaptation, with Benjamin Wainwright (Belgravia: The Next Chapter) taking over a character previously played by actors including Rowan Atkinson, Michael Gambon, and Richard Harris.
