Mahershala Ali Officially Moves On From Marvel’s Cancelled ‘Blade’ Movie

Two-time Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali reiterated that he has officially moved on from the Blade movie at Marvel Studios, after expressing frustration about how the project was handled. Ali, promoting his new movie at the Toronto International Film Festival, added with a hint of sarcasm that he’s grateful to Marvel because the studio indirectly funded the upcoming project. He was still attached to Blade when he met director Bassam Tariq; they came up with their new original movie during that time. It was also during the development for Blade that Ali was sent to undergo training for the lead role, which ended up coming in handy for his new movie with Tariq.
