2026 has been another huge year for Netflix, which is operating at another level over its competition in terms of pure subscriber numbers. The biggest hit of the year for Netflix so far has been War Machine, the big-budget sci-fi thriller starring Alan Ritchson that dropped back in March. The film fell just short of 140 million views during its initial viewing period, but this was still enough to earn it a title as one of the top 10 most-watched Netflix original movies of all time. Netflix found success earlier in the year with the premiere of The Rip, the Miami-set crime thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Another great movie that picked up over 100 million views was Apex, the survival thriller starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton, which narrowly missed out on a spot in the all-time top 10.
