Guillermo del Toro Officially Settles the Debate Over ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’s Ending

But that distinction belongs to the 2006 dark fantasy Pan’s Labyrinth, directed by Guillermo del Toro. AtSan Diego Comic-Conthis year, the filmmaker, actorsIvana Baqueroand Doug Jones, and cinematographer Guillermo Navarro gathered for a panel commemorating the film’s 20th anniversary, coinciding with its upcoming 3D and 4K re-release by Barco. The re-released version is set to premiere on October 9, 2026 — del Toro’s birthday.
