Forget ‘Andor,’ Stellan Starsgård’s 2-Part War Thriller Is the Best Sci-Fi of the Century

For a brief, shining moment, Star Wars was able to beat the silly allegations. While George Lucas’ world is a pointed critique of fascism, it was also entertainment at its highest. A population of aliens and outlandish names always stopped pop culture from viewing it with 100% sincerity. This was not the case with the perfect two-season sci-fi series, Andor. The return of titular freedom fighter Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) was savage in its political commentary and became the best war series of its time. Co-lead Stellan Skarsgård, for his part, had no illusions about the character he was playing. Luthen Rael was committed to the cause and delivered some of the most moving monologues put to screen.
