In many ways, both Guy Ritchie and Taylor Sheridan have established themselves as television moguls for a new era. This was historically the domain of producers such as Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Murphy, both of whom have scored record-breaking deals worth hundreds of millions during the streaming boom. However, Sheridan and Ritchie both established themselves in the business with theatrical films before making the move to long-form storytelling, where their paths eventually crossed on Paramount+. The streamer was home to several of Sheridan’s hit shows by the time Ritchie arrived as a challenger with MobLand in 2025 and delivered the streamer’s biggest-ever debut. The show was clearly modeled on Sheridan’s magnum opus Yellowstone, which had done wonders for Paramount+ over the past decade.
