Matthew Rhys Wins First Limited Series Emmy for ‘The Beast in Me’

Television’s biggest night has finally arrived, and with the Primetime Emmys comes a heated race in the limited or anthology series or movie category. While a lot of attention is always on the comedy and drama awards, some of the biggest shows over the past few years, like Beef, The Penguin, and Adolescence, have emerged in the third section of the night and cleaned up the competition. This year, the former has returned with another star-studded tale of rage boiled over, this time at a country club where blackmail, favors, and coercion are used to reach greater heights within the little elitist bubble. However, unlike its first season, which nearly swept the limited series section save for a Paul Walter Hauser supporting actor win for Blackbird, the path hasn’t been as clear.
