One of Horror’s Most Influential Movies Is Officially Free to Stream

For a worryingly long period, the Dracula IP had begun to feel slightly cursed. Movies such as Dracula Untold, Renfield, and The Last Voyage of the Demeterall underperformed at the box office and fell short of critical expectations. This changed in 2024 with the release of Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu — not a direct adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic novel, but a remake of a 1922 movie. Nosferatu went on to break the Dracula curse by grossing more than $180 million at the box office and scoring excellent reviews. However, we have yet to see a modern movie with “Dracula” in the title breaking the sorry streak.
