Netflix Is Officially Losing One of the Most Provocative Movies of the 2010s

History hasn’t yet completely turned on director Bernardo Bertolucci and actor Marlon Brandofor their alleged treatment of Maria Schneider on the set of Last Tango in Paris. Alfred Hitchcock is still held in the highest regard despite numerous claims of inappropriate behavior on set. The same goes for Stanley Kubrick, who, by many accounts, was horrible to Shelley Duvall during production. Male filmmakers have frequently gotten away with bad behavior under the guise of supposed genius, but times are changing. It didn’t take actors Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos too long to accuse director Abdellatif Kechiche of fostering a hostile environment on set during the making of their controversial erotic drama Blue Is the Warmest Color, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
