Netflix Officially Kills Sigourney Weaver’s Sci-Fi Classic Ahead of Reboot Series

Of all the beloved sci-fi movies from the 1980s, few have proven more enduring than Ghostbusters. Four decades later, the ghoul-catching franchise is returning for more. Ghostbusters: Night Shift, as announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, will make its big Netflix splash in 2027. In reference to the events of 1989’s Ghostbusters 2, Ghostbusters: Night Shift is said to take place in 1994, “five years after the Ghostbusters took the Statue of Liberty for a walk.”
