David Fincher’s Highest-Grossing Thriller Is Officially Getting Cut From Netflix

After more than a decade working exclusively on Netflix projects, David Fincheris all set to make his grand theatrical comeback. Nobody would’ve seen this coming a decade ago — or even as recently as last year — but Fincher’s theatrical comeback vehicle is a Netflix original. The streamer has changed its tune about releasing movies on the big screen after doubling down on an anti-theater narrative in recent years. In early 2027, the streamer will give Greta Gerwig‘s mega-budget Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew a full-fledged rollout in cinemas. But first, it’ll release Fincher’s upcoming The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth exclusively in IMAX theaters.
