George R.R. Martin’s Favorite ‘Game of Thrones’ Spin-Off Officially Returns in 2 Weeks

What a year it’s been in 2026 for Game of Thrones fans, who have been treated to not one, but two projects in the same year for the first time in franchise history. The Game of Thrones franchise introduced its second spin-off show earlier in the year with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which stars Peter Claffey as the chivalrous Ser Duncan the Tall and a young Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire, Aegon Targaryen. The show has already wrapped filming on its second season, and while not officially confirmed, it’s heavily speculated that it will return to streaming in the second half of next year. Another Game of Thrones show set to return, albeit not next year, is House of the Dragon. The fourth and final season of the show is expected to film next year and be released in 2028.
