The prom is the part of Carrie everyone remembers. Stephen King spends an entire novel getting there, building a town full of people whose decisions shape what happens to Carrie White. Mike Flanagan’s new television adaptation has eight episodes to give those people more room, but we’re hearing that the horror auteur has envisioned an even longer story. Prime Video has announced the complete first season, with Summer H. Howell playing Carrie. It has not announced a renewal or described the series as the beginning of a multi-season story, and that distinction matters when the creator of a show based on one of horror’s most famous endings starts talking about what could come next, especially when the first season already has King’s approval.
