When it came to comedy shows this year, no platform did as well as Apple TV, and the streamer was just rewarded for its hard work at the Emmys. One of the most successful Apple TV comedies of the year has quietly been Margot’s Got Money Troubles, the hit series co-starring Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer. Apple TV also found success with the release of Shrinking, which hails from writer/creator Bill Lawrence, the same scribe behind Ted Lasso — Ted Lasso likely would have been nominated if it were released inside the proper viewing window. Apple TV also discovered a brand-new sleeper hit with the premiere of Widow’s Bay, which is expected to return for Season 2 possibly before the end of next year. The streamer does have some solid competition at the Emmys this year, though.
