XRP Price: Can Bulls Push XRP Above $1.60 This Week?

XRP trades near $1.50 after dropping 4.5% over the past week. Bulls must defend the $1.48 to $1.50 zone and break through the $1.60 resistance barrier to push the token higher.

XRP Price: Can Bulls Push XRP Above $1.60 This Week?

Currently changing hands at roughly $1.50, XRP has dropped 4.5% over the past week. Bulls are now tasked with defending the $1.48–$1.50 zone while breaking through the $1.58–$1.60 resistance barrier to push the token back above $1.60. Having reached $1.6582 last week, the short-term outlook now points to either another test of the $1.60 mark or a potential retreat toward $1.44–$1.45.

XRP This Week: Price Prediction, $1.60 Target And Key Resistance

This price action follows a substantial upward move. The cryptocurrency advanced approximately 33% from a low of $1.2457 on September 16 to peak at $1.6582 on the two-hour Binance chart. CoinGecko figures indicate that trading over the past 24 hours has fluctuated between $1.47 and $1.56.

XRP Price Holds Above Former Resistance

On the positive side, XRP continues to maintain a position just above the $1.48–$1.49 band, which previously acted as a ceiling prior to the recent rally. An initial rejection from above $1.60 pulled the price down into the upper $1.40s, and a subsequent push toward $1.60 failed to surpass the $1.6582 high, establishing a pattern of short-term lower highs.

This downward drift coincided with comments from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse posted to X on September 24. When questioned about why investors should choose XRP over Solana over a five-year horizon, Garlinghouse remarked:

“I’m not one of these people who’s an XRP maximalist, I’m bullish on a bunch of cryptos for a bunch of reasons.”

The immediate support level to monitor is $1.48–$1.50, followed by $1.44–$1.45. To the upside, XRP first needs to reclaim $1.55, after which a decisive break past $1.60 would place the $1.6582 peak back into focus.

Indicators Cool As XRP Ledger Ships An Emergency Fix

Technical gauges including the RSI, MACD, and CCI reflect a noticeable cooling of momentum. Three separate RSI readings stand at approximately 39.27, 42.79, and 48.14—all staying beneath the neutral 50 threshold—while the MACD remains negative with its histogram near -0.0082.

Meanwhile, developers on the XRP Ledger released version xrpld 3.4.1. According to the official XRPL release notes:

“This is an emergency release to fix security-sensitive issues in the XRPL protocol. This release introduces a new amendment, fixBatchV1_2, with the default vote set to “Yes”.”

XRP Ledger Operations shared the following statement on X:

“xrpld 3.4.1 is being released with a Batch fix and stability improvements. We’re asking validators and node operators to upgrade as soon as possible. There has been no impact to mainnet, and no loss of funds.”

Although this update has already secured a supermajority of backing from validators and is slated to go live on October 9, it functions primarily as a network protocol update rather than an immediate market catalyst for the token.

XRP Price Prediction: Can Bulls Reclaim $1.60?

The trajectory of the asset depends heavily on the $1.48–$1.50 zone remaining intact. Provided this floor holds, another attempt at $1.60 remains probable, with the $1.58–$1.60 corridor serving as the primary resistance hurdle. Market scenarios break down as follows:

Scenario What XRP Needs To Do Areas To Watch
Bullish Hold $1.48-$1.50, recover $1.55 and clear $1.60 $1.60, then $1.65-$1.66
Base Case Keep holding former resistance $1.48-$1.58 range
Bearish Lose $1.48 decisively and fail to reclaim it $1.44-$1.45, then $1.39-$1.42

Should buyers succeed in defending this former resistance level, XRP could mount another challenge toward the $1.60–$1.66 range this week. Conversely, a definitive break below $1.48 would likely pull the asset back down toward $1.44–$1.45.
