That dynamic shifted in 2024 when Robert Eggers debuted his film Nosferatu. While it serves as a remake of a 1922 picture rather than a straight adaptation of Bram Stoker‘s foundational book, Nosferatu successfully shattered the Dracula curse by pulling in upwards of $180 million globally and earning rave reviews. Even so, contemporary features explicitly bearing the name “Dracula” in their titles have yet to snap the disappointing trend.
