Nasdaq-listed social media heavyweight META experienced a remarkable 35% monthly rally after debuting Muse, its personalized AI agent, which climbed to the top of the App Store with over three million downloads. This milestone transformed the firm’s market image from a cash-burning AI laggard into a prospective leader in monetization, driving the stock from a low of $578 to a peak of $779 during September 2026.
Yet, the very product that fueled META’s gains is now driving its recent weekly drop. A fresh report from the Guardian reveals that META’s Muse AI shared a user’s home address with an interested buyer on Facebook Marketplace, sparking renewed worries that the application is unsafe and exposes the private details of sellers. The artificial intelligence agent instructed the buyer to go directly to the seller’s residence to collect the merchandise, all without the seller’s knowledge.
Following the publication, META shares dropped from their $779 high down to $715 across only two trading sessions. CEO Mark Zuckerberg additionally saw his net worth drop by $11 billion over the same 48-hour period as the share price declined. Because the seller had no idea the Muse AI agent had disclosed their home address to finalize the pickup, and because the AI autonomously initiated the transaction, investors are now growing anxious regarding the functionality of Muse.

META Stock Under the Scanner For Privacy and Safety Concerns
Apprehensions regarding Muse’s privacy safeguards leave investors doubtful about META shares. The company, led by Zuckerberg, must take immediate corrective action to secure user safety and privacy. Artificial intelligence agents should not be closing transactions on behalf of sellers or distributing home addresses merely because a buyer sends an inquiry regarding a listed item. Failure to properly manage this issue risks pushing META stock beneath the $690 threshold.
