Brabus, a world-renowned aftermarket auto tuning company, recently informed us that its Masterpiece supercar series will already be blockchain-enabled.
Every model starting in its 2025 model year will sport the cutting-edge DPP technology powered by Aura Blockchain Consortium.
DPP Integration in Brabus Masterpiece Collection
Brabus, a German aftermarket tuner specializing in luxury and sports vehicle models such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, will infuse blockchain tech in its works starting in 2025. The integration of the new feature is in collaboration with Aura Blockchain Consortium. Its partner is a product of an initiative by known luxury brands, including LVMH, Prada Group, Cartier, OTB Group, and Richemont.
According to Brabus, it will be equipping its cars with Digital Product Passport (DPP). The state-of-the-art tech uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to allow data collection through compatible smart devices.
The transparency enables users and owners to verify the authenticity and ownership credentials of their Web3-linked Brabus units. It also ensures that they all trace back to the tuner’s production facility at the Brabus headquarters in Bottrop, Germany.
Brabus and Aura Blockchain’s DPP Feature
An NTAG 424 DNA-grade NFC chip is embedded within the vehicle’s interior. Working in harmony with the DPP feature, it provides a comprehensive overview of the auto’s ownership certificate, brand, key specifications, and the bespoke elements introduced by Brabus into it. The data can be easily traced and verified through Aura’s private blockchain.
Owners can link their smartphones using a dedicated wallet card to store their unique ownership certificate. This enables them to gain immediate access to the credentials of their cars whenever the need arises.
A Measure Against Counterfeiters
Besides the convenience it offers to users, Brabus has employed the new measure to cripple parties who are blatantly counterfeiting its products. Over the past few years, dubious aftermarket tuners have been shamelessly copying Brabus’s products. They even had the audacity to include the German tuning specialist’s distinct “B” logo in their works.
Take for example this Suzuki Jimny turned into a mini version of the Brabus Mercedes-AMG G 63 back in 2020. At a glance, one might easily mistake the copycat as a small G-Class model and a genuine work of Brabus. However, a closer examination, especially of its interior, would reveal its true colors.

While some might turn to the adage “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” to disgustingly justify these sub-par products, it’s not always good news to the one being copied, especially without the express consent of the original maker. These acts somehow compromise the exclusivity of Brabus products and expose the prestigious brand to a certain level of dilution in its identity. Likewise, it exposes discerning customers to the dangers posed by substandard parts and workmanship.
“By integrating Digital Product Passport technology, powered by the Aura Blockchain Consortium, into every Masterpiece vehicle as of model year 2025, BRABUS strengthens its commitment to offering clients all over the world the highest standard of craftsmanship and security,” said Brabus in the press material it sent via email. “In the future, both parties plan to intensify their collaboration and develop solutions to further expand the possibilities in the world of high-end luxury mobility.”
