Sergey Ryabkov made an announcement as Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister. He revealed new ways for countries to pay each other. These new systems will challenge the US dollar (de-dollarization). Many countries now use dollars for trade. But BRICS nations want to change this. They are building a different system for payments. Russia is showing other countries how to do this. Their payment systems are changing how global trade works.

Ryabkov told the TASS Analytical Center that the BRICS payment system is real, not just an idea. The de-dollarization trends are gaining speed. Six new countries have joined BRICS – Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Argentina. “Not only it exists. It is not hypothetical,” Ryabkov stated, showing clear progress in new financial systems.
Building Alternative Financial Infrastructure
De-dollarization is moving forward through Russian payment systems. Ryabkov explained:
“This plan is now on the table and that will be implemented is not a pattern for dollar substitution in all settlements. It is a pattern for creating an additional circuit for work in conditions when the main and well known to all dollar channel is failing for reasons beyond the control of BRICS.”
The system includes new clearing tools and insurance that work without outside control.

Impact on Global Trade Dynamics
The new payment systems show big changes in global payment systems. “We are also working on them – transaction insurance systems, including insurance for the movement of goods and cargoes, which would also not depend on harmful external influences,” Ryabkov said.
This system directly challenges US dollar dominance by giving BRICS countries their own financial tools.
Comprehensive Infrastructure Development
Russian payment systems now have many parts. Ryabkov stated: “I would like to add: the financial pattern as such – for all its importance – is not enough for the system to function properly. We also need clearing mechanisms.” These changes mark a key step in de-dollarization trends across BRICS nations.

Future Implications
Here’s what’s happening right now. Ryabkov made a clear statement. He said: “All together this is the minimum that could allow the ‘BRICS’ to say that things have moved forward and a real alternative has emerged.” This tells us something important: BRICS countries have a working system now. They don’t need to use dollars as much anymore.
More changes are coming, too. Countries can now trade differently. Some will use their own money instead of dollars, and this is already changing how trade works. The US dollar won’t be as powerful. Other countries might join BRICS soon. They also want to use different ways to pay.
